Lasers in Politics?

From this interesting presentation I noted a slide. Lasers, on walls. I have seen this before. But the water level slide.

It planted an idea. An idea that laser scanners could be used for protests: You have a large mass of humans in one locations, going about a thing. Now, adding projections:

  • You can be relatively far away.
  • You can visualize things on the landscape around you.
  • You get the full attention because either everyone has been doing this for 4 hours or ‘look it’s an interesting thing’.

The power is massive, it’s a nice way to make a point. But it could have consequences in physical damage (lasers are powerful) to the power being abused (by both sides) to the ‘helpful projection’ turning things against the projecting side.
